North Carolina State Extension Military Outreach Program
Mission Statement: Creating awareness and understanding of the issues and stresses faced by military families and youth while building community partnerships to increase capacity for youth, families, and veterans.
North Carolina State Extension Military Outreach is proud to support the more than 140,000 active duty, reserve and guard troops who call our state home. Particularly during this time of global deployment, service members need to know that their families here at home are surrounded by supportive citizens, offering a cadre of services and resources to help ease the stress of pre-deployment, deployment and post-deployment. More than 109,000 military youth from the ages of 0 to 18 call North Carolina home.
North Carolina State Extension Military Outreach is a collaborative effort with North Carolina communities to support children and youth impacted by deployment. Regardless of whether Families are experiencing deployment for the first time, second time or another series of multiple deployments, NCSEMO’s goal is to connect military children and youth with local resources in order to achieve a sense of community support and enhance their well-being. North Carolina State Extension Military Outreach is committed to connecting civic, community groups, military, businesses, and educators in order to increase awareness and to create support networks for military youth, families, and veterans. Several programs and partnerships are offered and managed through North Carolina State Extension Military Outreach team members both on installations/bases and other areas supporting our geographically dispersed guard and reserve professionals. Local Extension Centers have information and staff members ready to assist.
